SPEAKING of Hornitos, I missed seeing you Chriss, and Harriet, and anyone else who may have attended- As usual the food was great and the weather held (no rain). I was there at 3:00 and bounced from the park to Maunuelas-! We got in line at 4:00 and visited with some of the old families. It turns out that the woman standing in line behind me was born in our old home in Midpines- Bear Creek. She went to the Bear Creek school which was also on the same property! Needless to say we are planning a wonderful get together at the property- and I am sure to see wonderful old pictures and hear some great stories........ Instead of selling T Shirt this year, the Patrons Club was selling copies of old photos! and note cards with photos----- What a great idea. I was standing next to a woman who was looking at the photos and she got so excited to see a picture of her father - part of the crew at the Mount Gaines Mine- she went to the old Quartzburg school and the school at the Mount Gaines Mine-= she had come all the way from Pinole to attend the dinner- it was certainly a wonderful time for her! The CASTAGNETTO reunion sounds like a wonderful idea Don-! Remember, if anyone wants to combine a research trip to the History Center you need to make a reservation ahead of time.
