    3. Do records for the St. Joseph Catholic Church still exist? I was very glad to find the listing for the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. I am interested in the listing for "McCann, Willie, 4-9-191, 10y6m3d, S/o Wm. & Mary". I believe that Willie was a brother of my grandfather-Edward James McCann. I found an obit for Wilie in the April 16, 1881 Mariposa Gazette that was submitted by W. Disbro (http://www.cagenweb.com/maripoobitsG-M.html). It looks like the year of death was 1881. Willie was listed on the 1880 Census as age 9, so it appears that the age matches. I have read an article at http://www.mariposa.k12.ca.us/maries/page9.html regarding St. Joseph Catholic Church. It had information about Willie's death and some other children. Do you know if there are any old records that exist for St. Joseph's Catholic Church? Such as marriage records? I have a copy of the Marriage License for William McCann and Mary E. Lynch which ends with "I herby certify that I have this the 3rd day of December A.D. 1865, united in marriag! e Wm McCann to Mary E. Lynch in accordance with the within License hereto annexed, Patrick Scanlan, Pastor of Mariposa. Filed and Recorded January 24th A.D. 1866." I hope that there are some records that would reveal Wm & Mary's parents" names. I think that there should be a baptismal record for Willie. Could you tell me how to go about requesting this information? Thanks for your help. Nancy Munson, TX
