Mentioned as being produced in Mariposa County year 2000 are Apples, Grapes, almonds, apricots, berries, filberts, herbs, olives, peaches, pears, TOMATOES!, miscellaneous vegetables , and English walnuts. Here is a listing by top crop for the year 2000 1. Cattle and Calves-- $9,346,000. 2. Rangeland $5,058,000 3. Misc. Livestock or Poultry Products $1,844,000 4. All poultry $1,069,000 5. Forest Products $ 863,000 6. Sheep and Lambs $ 230,000 7. Wine Grapes, All $ 159,000 8. Nursery Stock $ 152,000 9. Misc. Fruits and Nuts $ 147,000 10. Misc. Livestock $ 143,000 Crop Values of Mariposa County as listed in the 1930 Census and found in the1932 the California Blue Book were: Cereals, $5,905 Hay and forage, $47,385 vegetables, $2,424 fruits and nuts, $7,878 farm garden vegetables for home use only, $9,589 Forest products, cut on farms, for home use and for sale, $19,383 Value of live stock: Horses and colts, $53, 949 mules, $9,759 cattle, $815,717 swine, $62,035 sheep and lambs, $57,953 goats and kids, $9,120 Dairy products sold, $15,580 wool shorn (unwashed) , $9,815 poultry raised, $24,772 chickens and eggs sold, $21,087 Further historical data would be fun......
