There are mentions of SOLARI, BRUSCHI, to be found in these records----------probably more- I just did a quick look.....as always the Library of Congress brings good things to the net! Carolyn =================================== The Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) and the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) are among the largest and most heavily used collections in the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress. The collections document achievements in architecture, engineering, and design in the United States and its territories through a comprehensive range of building types and engineering technologies including examples as diverse as windmills, one-room schoolhouses, the Golden Gate Bridge, and buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. If you go to this site- it begins the entries for California- the information is divided by counties...........lots of nice photos of these buildings (b&w)-and further documentation http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/hhhtml/hhGeographics6.html Enjoy-Carolyn
The link to historical buildings posted by Carolyn helped me find a photo of the IOOF Hall (Big Oak Flat, Tuolumne County), just days after learning my GG-Gparents (MECARTEA) were buried in the IOOF, Oak Grove Cemetery there -- not to mention all the other wonderful material available at that site, inc. for Mariposa County. http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/hhhtml/hhGeographics6.html Much appreciation, jjastram
