I recently heard that the historic marker in front of the Mariposa Court House, a gift of the Yosemite Parlor 21 of the Native Sons in 1919 , is comprised of stones and crystals gathered from a variety of local Mariposa Mines...............It was an organized effort to collect these stones from many of the local mines to build this marker. Does anyone have information on this collecting of these stones or building of this marker? Unfortunately the largest crystal at the top of this monument has been vandalized...........(ie removed!)
