Karen & I took a hike up to Williams Peak Saturday...sure was a beautiful day. There was a Williams Ranch on the USGS Topo map just below the Peak in Hunters Valley. Was that the ranch of William Williams? Was the Peak named after the ranch owner? I got some great digital shots up into the Yosemite if anyone is interested. I also got a shot of Fremont Peak with Bear Valley in the foreground. Jessie Benton Fremont used to camp on this mountain during the summer to get away from the oppressive heat when the Fremonts were living in Bear Valley in the late 1850's. Don Rose Bootjack
