    1. [CALVERT-L] Belmont County, Ohio Calverts
    2. James Calvert
    3. There a number of researchers of the line of Calverts who migrated to Belmont County, OH, from Bald Eagle TWP, Mifflin County, PA. (Carolyn Joy has already checked in.) We believe there were at least three brothers, John (Sr.), who married "Hettie" Esther Jones, Job (wife unknown), and Jacob who married Mary "Polly" Shepherd, as well as a daughter, Sallie. John, Job and Jacob were in Belmont County in 1800. Their presence in Mifflin County has been substantiated through taz roles. It is believed they were children of a John Calvert who entered Mifflin County circa 1780 or slightly before. We are trying to substantiate this relationship at this time through probate records in Mifflin County--if they exist. A branch of this line is: 1. John Calvert (son of Jacob of Belmont County) b. January 4, 1804 in Jacobsberg, Belmont County, OH d. Decelber 14, 1854, Appanoose County, OH m. Sarah (possibly aka: Mary) Danilel of Loudon County, VA 2. James William Calvert b. June 9, 1836, Belmont County, OH d. July 11, 1902 Cherokee County, OK m. Sarah Catherine Michael of Putnam County, IN 3. Pearl Preston Calvert b. May 19, 1869, Appanoose County, IA d. September 22, 1930, Optima, OK. m. Sarah Anna McMains of Oskaloosa, IA 4. James Franklin Calvert b. June 19, 1897, Bever City, OK. d. March 15, 1955, Fresno, CA m. Annie L. Calvert of Marrietta, Indian Territory, OK Original research of this branch, from Jacob Calvert through Pearl Reston Calvert, was based on the record of a family Bible in the possession of the Richardson family of Conway Springs, KS, who are descendants of James William Calvert. It has been expanded upon by Kay Rea-Sherrill -my tireless cousin-and myself.. Other branches of the Belmont County family have been researched by others. I believe Carolyn Joy has already mentioned her research. Jim
