Hi I'm researching the Calvert family from Lincolnshire, England mainly from Owmby and Lincoln itself. I'd love to know if anyone out there is researching the same line. My Great Grandfather was John Henry Calvert and was born in the Lincoln Workhouse to Mary Ann Calvert (father unknown), I'm not sure what became of Mary Ann but John Henry lived with his Grandfather John and Johns second wife Mary Ann (nee Roberts). While John Henry was young he worked in the fields as a bird scarer but in later life he taught himself to read and write and read sermons at the local methodist church in Lincoln. As I have said John Henrys grandfather was John Calvert of Owmby , his grandmother was Elizabeth Driffill/Driffield Johns first wife. Johns parents were William and Elizabeth Calvert and Elizabeths parents were Thomas Driffill/Driffield and Sarah. Hope somebody out there is connected!
