To All Concerned Re: the KAK - Worm Virus: If you are running Internet Explorer, Outlook, and/or Outlook Express, I recommend you go to the following Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms99-032.asp Read the bulletin, and download the Patch Available for "scriptlet.typelib/Eyedog" Vulnerability. This "patch" will supposedly prevent you from being infected by this virus. There is much other reference material on this subjec on the 'net; just enter KAK or KAK - Worm in most any search engine. SYMANTEC Service & Support has the instructions for deleting the virus. This is what I used to delete it from my computer. Before doing any of this, go to this web site and it will scan your computer FREE and tell u if you are infected. http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_corp.asp After you delete the virus you should install FREE from Microsoft their latest version of Out Look Express and update your computer. If you are fairly new to computers and don't feel as though u are capabile of deleting the Virus take it to someone and have it done BEFORE THE 1ST OF APRIL. This is when the Virus will do the damage. Again, I am so sorry for this. I simply did not know I had the Virus until yesterday. If I can be of further help to you, please don't hesitate to contact me. Vicki K
I have Norton AntiVirus...on my system. Will this stop this KAK Virus? Because I keep updated my Norton AntiVirus system, and I scanned regularly, but I haven't had any virus show up. ----- Original Message ----- From: txcalvert <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: 27 March, 2000 12:11 PM Subject: [CALVERT] Wscript.KakWorm > To All Concerned Re: the KAK - Worm Virus: > > If you are running Internet Explorer, Outlook, and/or > Outlook Express, I recommend you go to the following > Microsoft site: > > http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms99-032.asp > > Read the bulletin, and download the > > Patch Available for "scriptlet.typelib/Eyedog" Vulnerability. > > This "patch" will supposedly prevent you from being infected by > this virus. > > There is much other reference material on this subjec on the 'net; just enter KAK or KAK - Worm in most any search engine. > SYMANTEC Service & Support has the instructions for deleting the virus.
