Brenda, Could these Calvert's be from Scott County Kentucky? My great, great grandparents Were John and Elvessa Cannon Calvert. Here is the article I was sent from a book about Historic Scott County houses. In 1859 Juliet Branham, Widow of James Branham and guardian of Richard Branham's children, deeded John Calvert 223 acres on Cedar Creek. Calvert, son of pioneer John and Sarah Johnson Calvert, had moved about prior to this final settling down. In 1831 he was operating a hotel in Owen County and in 1835 he moved to Indiana for nine years. In 1845 he returned to Scott County, living with his parents until 1859. His second wife was Elveesa Cannon. John and Elveesa Calvert sold a portion of the farm on which the old log house stood to Samuel Estes in 1882 and 1886. In 1904 the Estes sold the farm then consisting of 111.3 acres to Elias H. Wise. Wise sold the place to Daniel Bailey in 1917; and in 1956 the Baileys sold the farm to Joe Johnson. It was bought by Delbert and Helen Barber in 1957. Sources: Perrin, 624,625, Scott County deed and will books. Thanks, Joyce
