    3. Allison, Charles Maple is the expert on our line of Calverts who were in Missouri. Most of them settled in Andrew County first. The father was William Shepherd Calvert. He had sons by two wives. The first wife was Mary Gordon who he married either in Belmont County, OH or Morgan County, OH. Their sons were James Clark Calvert b. January 31, 1845 and died 1864 in the Battle of Vicksburg. Charles did not say whether or not he married and had issue. The second son was Joseph C. Calvert born c. 1840. Again, Charles did not say who he married, or if he had issue. William Shepherd Calvert married second Lucy Hopkins. Their son was Steward Hopkins Calvert b. November 23, 1844. He married and had sons William Comely Calvert, Benjamin W. Calvert, and Clarence Stewart Calvert. All of these sons were born in the late 1800s from 1850 on. I do not know if any of these moved to Pettis County. They located mostly in Andrew County and some could have moved on. I know Charles stated some of the later ones were around St. Joseph.
