The land used to be owned by my ancestor, Rezin Calvert--Lucretia was his daughter. I have a letter written by Lucretia's sister, Rumina, which says that Nancy (Rezin's wife) was also buried on that same land. Basically, I have tracked down my ancestors this far, and when I found the land a couple of months ago, I attempted to contact the people now living on the land for permission to search for this grave (and perhaps others). Some nice locals pulled up and informed me that it was a vacation house, so the people weren't home. I DESPERATELY NEED to find out how to contact these people. I live about an hour and a half away, so it's important for me to be able to search the land without violating these people's privacy. If anyone knows these people please have them e-mail me or e-mail me their info so I can complete my research on this branch of my family tree. This caused me to go to a Missouri researcher who returned the following: I don't find any burial records for Rezin listed in the cemetery records so apparently no stone remains or else the people who have owned the land since have never reported the burial site. All of the following deed records are in Coldwater twp with the exception of the sale from G W Davis which was located in Dayton Twp. Tabor gives consent, At Harrisonville Most of these CALVERT's were from the Belton area, there are some CALVERT burials in Belton. The Lucretia Calvert who married James Cooke may hold the key to the burial location of Rezin if she was his daughter. In the summer of 2001, we received a call about a possible burial location in Coldwater Twp. The man gave me the information on the only stone he found there which was a stone for Lucretia. We did not personally go to the site, but I know where it is and if you come back up this way, I'm sure we could get permission to go back there and check for more stones. I know the person who currently owns this piece of property. I do grave dowsing and would be able to identify how many other graves were there and their gender. This would also help in knowing where to probe for stones. I'm pretty sure this may be the right locations for the cemetery because it is just up the road from the Southfork Baptist Church which is mentioned in the deed records. We called it the Cooke cemetery because it was the only name we had to go by. Here is the stone information: COOKE, Lucretia C m: James H Cooke (05/16/1867, Cass Co, MO) 10/31/1837 11/02/1869, 32 yrs 2 d 1870 Census, Coldwater Twp, P.O. You can obtain copies of the land records at a cost of $1 per sheet from the Cass County Historical Society. I'm not sure what they charge for marriage records.
