Later census records indicate both her parents were born in Alabama; I have no further info on them or any siblings Sarah might have had. Sarah married John Newton Hoffman (b VA 1850) in Waco, McLennan Co, TX in Jan 1879; they settled in Ft. Worth, Tarrant Co, TX, where they both died in 1945 and 1922, respectively. I know there are lots of Alabama Calverts, but this is one of my big, thick brick walls..... :) - any chance your Calverts might have a brother or nephew that wandered off to Texas, never to be heard from again?
