They then moved to Big Stick, Raleigh County WV where they lived while Mr Tosh worked on a tipple at the newly-opened mine. They lived in Hot Coal and Winding Gulf before moving to Sophia where they built their 9 room home. Mr Tosh then became a partner with C H Deem in the Deem Cash Store. Between housekeeping duties and assisting her husband in the store Mrs Tosh became a pollworker during election time and was a familiar face at all town, national, and state elections for 40 years or more. She missed her first election this year. Her daughters are Mrs Elsie Comer of Beckley, Mrs Betty Brown of Florida, Mrs. Mary Banker of Crab Orchard, Mrs Eunice Moseardini ofTampa, Fla., and Mrs Lona Bowman and Mrs Fred Arrington of Roanoke, Va., and Mrs Frances Lane of Mabscott.
