They then moved to Big Stick, Raleigh County WV where they lived while Mr Tosh worked on a tipple at the newly-opened mine. They lived in Hot Coal and Winding Gulf before moving to Sophia where they built their 9 room home. Mr Tosh then became a partner with C H Deem in the Deem Cash Store. Between housekeeping duties and assisting her husband in the store Mrs Tosh became a pollworker during election time and was a familiar face at all town, national, and state elections for 40 years or more. She missed her first election this year.
