Sorry Kristine, I have not got very far back with my line of CALVERTs yet, and no sign of a connection with Yorkshire yet. My Grandfather was Patrick CALVERT b 1890 in Camus Strabane Northern Ireland. His father was Hugh CALVERT b 1854 in Camus Strabane, and his Father was Hiram CALVERT who was known to have been in Strabane in 1845. My Great Aunt Vera, who lived in Los Angeles, told me that her Grandfather Hiram had been buried in Pensyllvannia. My Great Uncle Joseph, used to play football (soccer) in Strabane, and on one occasion he was playing and was told that he had a relative of his playing on the opposing team. This man claimed to be Lord CALVERT. He said that there definitely was a connection as ALL the Irish CALVERTS are from the same family. The Baltimore CALVERTs (who founded Maryland had connections with Ireland. Thus if what this person said is true, then we are related somehow, but there is no evidence yet. Have you visited the Genforum? http://genforum.genealogy.com/calvert/ Best of luck in your search, Jim.
