Laura writes: In my humble opinion, I think it would help us all when getting a message "dies anyone know anything about......Calvert since we have a good basic genealogy to work from, to state whether the branch in question has been noted in Mrs.O'Gormans 'Descendants of Virginia Calverts." (I'm new to the list but have been a genealogist for several years. Laura, Descendants of Virginia Calverts has 719 pages of small print. It was "compiled" by Ella Foy O'Gorman in the 1930's and 1940's, but includes earlier research. Ella's cousin, Mary Emily Foy began researching the Calvert family before 1909, and Mrs. Verna Outwater of the Calvert Heirs Association assembled volumes of information from some type of mailing that was posted around 1912. We Calverts are very fortunate to have so many old letters, family stories, etc. preserved in this book. The negative side is that the book is limited to certain branches of the family. Also, many of the family lines stop back in the 1800's. Finally, lookups are often very difficult, it would be a lot better to have the book computerized.
