    3. Roger I suspect we can find someone at our local historical Society libraries and public libraries who can confirm our thoughts that the 1947 copyright is no longer in effect. My son is the local prosecuting attorney but I'm sure he doesn't know about copyright. It's too white collar for him but I'll try to remember to pull the O'Gorman book off the shelf and ask the head librarian over at State Historical Society I think you could just try your public library. especially if you are in a large town. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Tuesday, January 11, 2000 5:38 PM Subject: Re: [CALVERT-L] William Calvert - Elizabeth Nodding Robert Fillerup writes: > I have the pages from O'Gorman on William Calvert and Elizabeth Nodding [pp. 661-677] input and formated in html for a web page. It was published by an un-named company , per the Library of Virginia. Higginson has been re-publishing it for several years without reference to a copyright. Higginson has "deep pockets" and would be wide-open to a lawsuit if they re- published without referencing a copyright and paying royalities. Ella Foy had no children (and presumably no heirs). She compiled and published her book to help future researchers of the Calvert family.
