    1. [CALVERT] Getting Info from Elders
    2. Hi List! I have been running into a problem these past few weeks. It is getting information from an elder. I'll explain, I live in Ohio and I called Aunt Jeannette in Maryland with some questions concerning family history. She gave me a few good answers and told me to talk to Uncle Joe in North Carolina who would know more. I called Uncle Joe and he gave me a little information which was good and very important but not enough. Uncle Joe said that Aunt Jeannette should know more than he. Then I got a death certificate of my paternal grandfather and that brought up more questions. My cousin Jo Ellen called Aunt Jeanette and asked her questions concerning the death certificate and she gave her the exact same answers she had given me before I got the paper. Aunt Jeanette told her to speak to Uncle Berkley in Virginia he would know more. She called Uncle Berkley and got some good and surprising information but it wasn't enough. Uncle Berkley said that Aunt Jeanette should have more information than he. He said that she probably has more information than she knows or realizes. You see all roads seem to keep going back to Aunt Jeanette. How do I question Aunt Jeanette who seems to be a major key to information? Am I being too specific in asking her questions or should I be more general and hope she just starts talking about it all and go from there. Does anyone have any suggestions? By the way, these questioned relatives are all in their 80s and we have only known them since 1994. Denise
