B. church where he remained a faithful member until death. Owing to physical infirmities he retired from farming several years ago purchasing property on East Franklin street, where he made his home being cared for my Mrs. Bertha Calvert until his death. His retirement was due to physical disability and for the past three months he suffered from the result of a fall causing a fracture of the left hip creating a dropsical condition causing his death. As a member of the Morris church he had great interest in her welfare and many times helped beyond the ordinary. The Ladies' Aid will miss his gifts. May others rise to take his place. As a Christian he was unassuming, quiet but interested; as a father beloved, as a neighbor helpful. His name has been mentioned many times during his illness and the help rendered by many friends attest to the esteem in which he was held. Two children, four brothers, one sister, sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive him. Card of Thanks. We wish to thank the neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted us during the sickness and death of our dear father, Henry R. Calvert; for the singers for their beautiful songs and to Rev. Weir for his consoling words and also to Fred Clark for his efficient service.
Hi Carolyn, For these last several, which were submitted by me, I have no problem honoring your request... HOWEVER, I think it needs to be explained that these messages are not actual messages to the list, but rather copies of messages posted to the GenConnect website and as such, since we can't control how someone posts the information to the website, we can't control how the email will be worded. So, for mine, I will go back and put the location, but realize that future ones that are not put up by me may or may not state the location... Thanks! Hi, I have a Hiram CALVERT who was in Strabane Northern Ireland in 1858 (Griffiths Valuation). He was my Great Great Grandfather. My Great Aunt Vera (Hiram's Grandaughter) emigrated from Ireland to USA about 1908. When I met her she was about 93 and she lived in Los Angeles. I asked her about her family history (unfortunately she would not allow me to tape record her). She told me that when she first came to USA, she had been passed around various relatives in USA and Canada. She said that she was with relatives in Ohio, and in Indianna. I also know that there were other relatives (named BURKE) in PA. Great Aunt Vera told me that Hiram CALVERT had been buried in PA. I also think I remember her talking about a Reason CALVERT (it struck me as an unusual name). I know that this is NOT the Hiram CALVERT that you refer to because this one was buried in Nebraska, but I feel sure that there is a connection somewhere. To date I have been unable to find my Hiram that was buried in PA. Do you know of this line? Have you been to the Genforum for CALVERT? There have been a number of contributors who are relatives of yours <A HREF="http://genforum.genealogy.com/calvert/">Calvert Family Genealogy Forum</ A> regards, Jim WILLIAMS
