    1. [CALosAngeles] CALosAngeles] Cullen and Vallejo DCT Look Up in Los Angeles

    3. Hi Phil, What a great job you've done, in such a short time. I looked through the Vallejos (your site) and have an idea. Do you think one of Platt's sisters may have been married to the L. Kincaid mentioned in the 1880 census below that was sent to me by Lynn. It's just a thought. "I found a Platton Jalejo in 1880 census. First Ward, Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, page 145B Living with L. Kincaid family, who is listed as a RR conductor. Platton Valejo--Bro.-in-law, M S W 23 CA- R. R. Brakeman" I think I'll check in Randolph County, Illinois for a possible marriage certificate for Platt and Katherine Cullen. The chances are that they may have been married there before coming to California. Those brakemen really got around. I see also there is a Roach in your record. Katherine Cullen Vallejo mother was Mary Roche, which many have spelled Roach. They were all in Randolph County, Illinois. Also, ten days ago we visited Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Los Angeles and I took pictures of the gravesite of Platt. I had heard that he was buried there, along with Katherine. Her two spinster sisters are buried very near also. I have always heard that they had no children. He died in Los Angeles June 17, 1933. The incredible thing is that Katherine is buried next to him and the grave is unmarked. The cemetery gave me the exact spot and their records show there is no memorial marker for her. Her dates are b. 8-18-1874 in Randolph County, Il. and d. 10-26-1955 in Los Angeles. Her records show that she is Isora K. Vallejo. Someone wrote to me that the name would probably be Isidora and she had seen the same mistake made many times for her relative. Calvary is a very lovely old cemetery that is beautifully maintained. The majority of names I saw were Spanish surnames. We wondered why Platt wasn't in a family plot area. I see in your file there is another Isidora Vallejo. I wonder if that could have been a close relative and Katherine took on the name to please the family. We were at a church book sale about ten years ago, right a round the corner from my home in San Diego. I found an old Bible that's a small size to carry to church. Inside the cover was the name Katherine Vallejo, so I bought it. The address is 1611 Curson Ave, GL 0022, Hollywood, West Hollywood Presby. Church. Also written is Psalm 51-10 and in the book it's circled. "Create in me a clean heart, O God." On the fly leaf is the name Juanita Vallejo, Rally Day, Oct. 3, '20. There's a newspaper clipping from May 4, 1940, so I'm pretty confident that this was her Bible. Would you say that's serendipitous???? I don't know anything about Juanita Vallejo. I had never thought that someday I may be able to put a puzzel like this one together. Thanks to you, Phil, Lynn, Elvina and Joe, for opening the doors to new questions. Rayene in San Diego
