I have just joined the list and would appreciate if some kind person would look up three family members obituaries for me. I'm not sure if I'm out of line asking for this from the members. I have called the funeral home, Cunningham and O'Conner, and asked for the information they have on them, but they refused. They said the information could only be given to the person who had made the arrangements. That is strange.....why would a person who made the arrangements, want information that they had given in the first place? This is the first time I have run into this obstacle. I have had great luck calling funeral homes all over California. They have responded quickly with the information that I requested and I've always written them a "thank you" for their efforts. I was very discouraged and called back later, asking if they could tell me the newspaper that the obituary would have been sent to and I was told the Los Angeles Times. All three of the people died in Los Angeles. If you could find a obituary on any of them, I would be so grateful. I want to find anything possible on Platt Vallejo, but have not been able to come up with anything at all, except his death date and where he's buried. Their names are: PLATT C. VALLEJO June 17, 1933 KATHERINE CULLEN VALLEJO (could be that ISORA would be listed as first name) Oct. 26, 1955 MARGARET HELEN CULLEN Died Nov. 20, 1955 Thank you so much for any ideas, or help you may give me. Rayene, Welcome to the world of the funeral industry, where they are nice to you as long as you are waving money in front of them. Everyone at a funeral home is selling something, and you couldn't make a dime for them. Almost all L.A. Times obituaries are paid one's, and most people then and now don't pay to have them done. Only the well known deaths get any press at all. Calvary is a great cemetery--I was just there this Sunday taking pictures. But, they only have a card that tell's where people are buried.
