    3. I'm having plenty of trouble with the Rootsweb message board! I guess it's because of the Amazon problems. I'd be most grateful for any information on Gerald Edward Burke who died 29 April 1957 in Los Angeles County. The California death records say that he was born in Pennsylvania 19 Feb 1895. I think he's probably my grandmother's half-brother who the family lost track of in the 1940s. My records for Edward say that he was born 19 February 1896, definitely in Pennsylvania. He spent time in Ohio, Texas, possibly Michigan and maybe Alabama. Thanks for any help on this elusive relative! Jeanne

    3. Knowing his SS#: 387-12-3088, you can order his original SS Application, which should include his parents' names. That would nail it down. Write to: Social Security Administration Office of Central Records Operations ATTN: FOIA Officer P.O. Box 17772 300 N. Greene Street Baltimore, MD 21290 Ask for: Social Security Number Record Third Party Request for Photocopy (Form SS-5) Include: Dates of Birth and Death Check for $27 Tell them the info came from the CA Death Index and include the URL of your source. I checked the LA Times and several other smaller newspapers, but did not find an obit for him. 3. Hi, Jeanne,   This is Jeanne!  I can't sign in to the RootsWeb message board, either  and I have some messages I want to reply to.  I'm also unable to recover or reset my password.  The directions in the help function said if you can't reset your password thorugh RootsWeb, to reset it through Ancestry.com, which I did.  But I still couldn't get into the message boards in RootsWeh; still got a message through RW that my password is invalid.   So, I sent RootsWeb a message explaining the situation last night.  Haven't gotten a reply yet; it's a little too soon.   Jeanne in Honolulu ________________________________ From: Jeanne Crews <jeanne_crews@yahoo.com> To: "CALOSANG@rootsweb.com" <CALOSANG@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 26, 2012 4:10 PM Subject: [CALOSANG] Obit request--can't get on message board I'm having plenty of trouble with the Rootsweb message board!
