    3. Linda Woodward Geiger, CG, CGL is kicking off the 2012 season of Southern California Genealogical Society's popular webinar series on 2012 season on Saturday, January 7 at 10am Pacific time. The webinars are open to the public and the live webcast is available FREE. Linda's presentation is "Me and My Laptop: Getting the Most out of your Laptop while Researching Onsite." You'll learn tips for making onsite research more efficient and productive using DropBox (or similar cloud) in conjunction with spreadsheets, word processing programs, genealogy software, and more. Our speaker, Linda Woodward Geiger, is the principal researcher, author, and lecturer of Woodward-Geiger.com (a subdivision of Vitaline, Inc.). Although she specializes in Georgia's state and county records prior to 1900 and a variety of federal records, particularly of the southeast region of the United States, she has extensive experience in many other geographic regions of the United States. Linda's personal research involves New England records. She also specializes in methods for finding elusive ancestors--those mighty brick walls. She is an associate of the Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG), holding credentials as a Certified Genealogist(sm) and as a Certified Genealogical Lecturer(sm). She is a former trustee and a former editor of the BCG newsletter, OnBoard. The Jamboree Extension Series allows genealogists from around the world to take advantage of the types of sessions that are offered at the Southern California Genealogy Jamboree in Burbank, CA. The series is offered as a service to the genealogical community. Webinar presentations are scheduled on the first Saturday and third Wednesday of each month.
