Thanks Joy for the maps. My parents, are listed at 443 Spruce Compton in the 1940 City Directory. Later that same year we lived at 1204 Oaks Ave cross streets Long Beach Blvd and Rosecrans. The ED number I found is 60-1078 443 Spruce St but that doesn't match the maps.
