The Atlantic one. One on my HANDS has escaped. Gertrude Isabella HANDS was born in 1863 in the village of Kings Norton, Worcestershire. She was there with her husband Hunter CLARK in the 1911 English census. He seems to have died two counties away in Herefordshire in 1914. 1926 saw Gertrude sailing from England to California. Although she was listed as living in Southport, Lancashire, which is several counties northwards, her last official country of residence was recorded as Foreign Countries. That means not England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Irish free State or the British Empire. So could be anywhere else. She died August 2nd 1934 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles, CA. Source: English probate records. I would be most grateful for any information at all: home address, obituary, cemetery, reason for travelling. Absolutely anything to fill in the blanks.
