I'm sorry to be unclear. Horsley was Dora's middle name and she was an unusual woman so after her husband (Lem(m)ing died, I don't know whether she would have used her maiden name. Also, she spells Leming both ways and, in fact, I think she dropped the m when she came to California from Idaho about 1930. I know she never married again after Wagner, but she lived until the early 70s. So I don't thinks she is this Dora. Even more confusing, I believe she started going by Elizabeth Wagner at some point. This is why I have had such a hard time. She was a young widow as of 1925 and I believe it affected many decisions she made after that. Melody: You said that your found your grandmother in the directories under LEMMING/LEMING which I found to be the widow of William D. LEMMING. You said you believed that HORSLEY was your grandmother's middle name and not her maiden name. I found 1910 and 1920 Bannock County, ID census listings for a couple WD/William D. and Dora. Both gave AR-IL-KY for her place and parents' birth locations. I found a Dorrah HORSLEY and her brother Walter living with her grandmother Salley MORGAN in Benton Co., AR for the 1900 census. This Dorrah was born Dec 1883, AR-IL-KY. The CA Death index has a number of possible relatives (e.g., the Katherine GIBSON and Ada TOWSE, mother OAKLEY, father HORSLEY are probably from Benton where I noted those names also listed).
