    2. Hi Joyce, I was able to view microfilmed Long Beach newspapers at the California State Library(http://www.library.ca.gov/calhist/index.html) in Sacramento. They have a large selection of newspapers on microfilm from all over California. You can go the California Newspaper Project website http://www.cbsr.ucr.edu/cnp/ and check their searchable database for newspapers. This site can assist you in finding newspapers for various locations and time periods, and will tell you what libraries hold them. If your library isn't listed, they may be able to get the microfilm on interlibrary loan for you. Hope this is helpful!
