I was consulting the LA County Bride Index available by subscription to vitalsearch. It is a filming of the LA County marriage books, and one must scroll through each page after putting in a search surname and getting to the beginning of that section of the marriage book. The book itself is the index made by the county; the bride names are chronological within the sections, usually the first three letters of the surname, i.e., "Hea" or "Hen"; the names themselves are not indexed.
