Karla: I just remembered that there is something called the Internet Archives WayBack Machine. You go to the WayBack website and then you type in the web address (URL) for a site that used to exist in the past. Then it brings up those past pages. This site captures and archives past websites. STEPS TO ACCESS AN OLD SITE: Go to: http://www.archive.org/web/web.php Type in the URL of the web site you want research [ex: your old web site-url below] http://www.4dw.net/socal And then click on "Take Me Back". Next click on one of the old dates and then it takes you back. The links appear to be active well. I don't know if this might help you in any way while you are rebuilding your new site. It's worth taking a look at. So, for at least a while, you can still read the old pages via the new url. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 18, 2008 10:32 AM Subject: Re: [CALOSANG] Socal Yearbooks web site > To all, > > The web site has been down for three weeks and it looks like it won't be > coming back on line. Hi all The death certificate for my great uncle, George Nathan Black, who resided and died in Los Angeles in 1959, states that he was in the Spanish American War (1898). How would I find records to verify this? Thanks again in advance and happy New Year. Pat
