    3. Thanks for the information Jeanne. When both documents show different information, it's hard to know which one to believe unless I can find other information to use as a clue. Maybe I'll be lucky and find her on an on-line cemetery with burials listed. That would certainly help to narrow down a death date.     3. Would you be able to get a copy of the death certificate? That would clear up the date issue and also tell you where she's buried. I have ordered California death certificates for various family members from the Vital Statistics office in Sacramento. If you don't want to go through the hassled of getting your request for the certificate notarized to prove you're a relative, you can still get an informational copy (instead of a certified copy). An informational copy will still give you the information you're looking for. It's a true copy of the cerfiticate; it's just stamped with the words "informational copy."
