I've "rescued" a group of photographs belonging to the SEAMS - SMITH Family of Michigan. Based on limited research and thanks to family researchers, I was able to gather some additional information and have included that information below along with details of the three photographs: 1. Louisa SMITH SEAMS, no studio or location, taken 1880's, in her teens or 20's, note "1870-1950" Louisa Maria SMITH married James B. SEAMS about 1891 in MI. Her husband James died in UT in 1920 and she married a second time to a man with the last name of COLE. Louisa and James had 7 children including, Earl Forrest; Purcelle E.; Leona L.; Nellie; Pauline; Clara L.; and Kenneth James SEAMS. The first two born in MI in 1890 and 1893, and the last 5 in California between 1901 and 1909. 2. Baby Earl SEAMS with his Mother, Louisa Maria SEAMS, Her Father G. Platt SMITH, and His Mother, Louisa SMITH, taken at the Barnum Studio in Adrian, MI, dated 1891, infant to 80's, note "Four Generations" Platt George or George Platt SMITH b. between 1845 and 1852 in NY and died 1912. He married Mary Elizabeth COCKSHAW (b. about 1849 in NY and died 1910). Together the couple had two daughters, Louisa Maria SMITH b. 4 Dec 1870 in MI and died 7 Feb 1950 in Los Angeles County, CA and Nellie J. SMITH b. 1875 in MI. 3. Earl SEAMS, taken at the Brown's Studio in Adrian, MI, dated 1893, age 3 years Earl Forrest SEAMS b. 15 Dec 1890 in Rome, MI the son of James B. SEAMS and Louise M. SEAMS. Earl married Myrtle Elizabeth ANDERSON (b. 28 May 1892 in NE) and together they had two children, Juanita SEAMS b. 1921 in UT; and Bernice SEAMS b. 1926 in UT. SEAMS, b. May 1865 in MI Louisa M. SEAMS, b. Dec 1870 in MI Earle F. SEAMS, b. Dec 1890 in MI Purcell E. SEAMS, b. Oct 1893 in MI 1910 census of Wheatland Township, MI: G. Platt SMITH, age 65, a widower, born NY, parents born NY, a General Store Merchant + a Store Clerk + a Servant 1910 census of Ontario Township, CA: (living in the home of Charles & Martha RINKER) Earl F. SEAMS, a lodger, age 19, born MI, parents born MI/NY, a Dairy Milk Peddler 1910 census of Redlands Township, CA: James B. SEAMS, age 45, married 19 years, born MI, parents born Germany, a Farmer Louisa SEAMS, wife, age 39, married 19 years, 7 children/6 living, born MI, parents born MI Purcelle SEAMS, dau, age 16, born MI Leona SEAMS, dau, age 10, born CA Nellie SEAMS, dau, age 5, born CA Pauline SEAMS, dau, age 3, born CA James SEAMS, son, age 11 months, born CA 1920 census of Woodrow, UT: Earl F. SEAMS, age 29, born MI, parents born MI, a Farmer Myrtle E. SEAMS, wife, age 27, born NE, parents born Sweden 1930 census of San Gabriel, CA: Louise SEAMS, age 59, born MI Kenneth SEAMS, son, age 20, born CA Earle SEAMS, son, age 39, born MI Myrtle SEAMS, dau-in-law, age 37, born MI Juanita SEAMS, granddau, age 9, born UT Bernice SEAMS, granddau, age 3, born UT Kenneth SEAMS married Julia COLPITTS and lived in Van Nuys, CA where they had a daughter Shirley SEAMS who married Daniel Albert HENDERSON in 1953. Juanita SEAMS attended Fillmore High School in Fillmore, CA and graduated in 1938. Juanita died in August 2006 in Beaverton, OR. Juanita's obit listed her birthdate as 15 Oct 1920 in Sugarville, UT who in 1942 married Edwin L. WILLIAMS. She was survived by two sons Gregory L. WILLIAMS and Gary D. WILLIAMS. I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that this wonderful old group of photographs can be returned to the care of family.
