Hi Joan, Something that might be helpful would be to get a copy of her death certificate. Obits are difficult to come by for Los Angeles county. The death cert would have some info on it that could help pin down some info, such as local city of death/residence, mortuary and cemetery. Once you learn these facts, you can write/email/call the local library to request an obituary look-up in that local paper, contact the mortuary/cemetery to request copies of whatever is in their records for her. Often times you can locate them through a google search. One other idea would be to check the probate courts. I've never done that, so I don't know all the particulars for. Good luck. Hello Joan: California State University, Northridge (CSUN) has microform copies of the Los Angeles Herald Examiner. I included the url link below for that particular newspaper. The CSUN Library has a wide range of hours, including weekends. The library also participates in interlibrary loan usage. You can check with your local library to see if they can borrow the microform for you to use locally. http://suncat.csun.edu/record=b1635884 Best wishes.
