I live in Orange County and the paper other than LA Times is the Orange County Register (though I have never seen a database on their old papers) and the other small paper is the  Daily Pilot - which I believe covers Newport Beach and Costa Mesa, CA   Julie --- On Thu, 1/29/09, Loretta Mikolyski <[email protected]> wrote: From: Loretta Mikolyski <[email protected]> Subject: [CALOSANG] obits and funeral homes/mortuaries To: [email protected] Date: Thursday, January 29, 2009, 5:57 AM In Los Angeles, it's most difficult to find an obituary if the person was not famous or coming from wealthy families. However, sometimes the mortuary has the kind of info you might find in an obit. Many mortuaries and/or cemeteries will send you that info for a small fee or for free. Other times they won't give out any info unless you are directly related to the deceased. Also, if you write to a local library from the actual smaller city in Los Angeles county, their local paper just might have an obit or death notice. These are some steps that have been successful for me. Good hunting. Loretta _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live™: E-mail. Chat. Share.
