Aaron, if you know anything about California, you must know that it is not like the Eastern or Mid-western states. While people have transcribed tons of cemeteries in those states, the states in the West are not well studied. It wasn't until the internet that many of these lists began to be fully complied. And these, of course, are only the names of those whose graves have tombstones. Occasionally, some cemetery records have been made available to transcribers, but this is rare at best. It is a shame that it is so difficult to track down burials in California, but that is the way it is. Many of the western states had a very transient population and graves were never marked in the first place. As I don't know how old the burial might be or where, I'm afraid I have no specific advice for you as to internet sites that might be of help. ----- Original Message ----- From: Aaron Hill To: calosang@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, December 05, 2011 3:50 PM Subject: Re: [CALOSANG] Cemetery lists for Los Angeles cems.? I am confident there are lists of folks buried and where. These lists have been a staple of local genealogical societies for decades. It was one method for these groups to make a little money. These may not be centralized and not exhaustive, but they do indeed exist. -- Aaron --- On Mon, 5/12/11, Joe Walker <joe_walker_2000@yahoo.com> wrote: > Good info...except he wants a list of everyone buried in LA > County.
