    1. [CALOSANG] Obituary look-up: George W.R. Martin (1878-1946)
    2. Mark E. Dixon
    3. Hello. I am hoping that someone on the list has ready access to the Los Angeles Times. I am looking for an obituary for the following man: George William Robert Martin (who usually signed his name as George W.R. Martin) B. 10 June, 1878, Philadelphia D. 11 Aug., 1946, (Los Angeles?) Married (when?) Bertha Barker Buried: Los Angeles National Cemetery (SECTION 230 ROW A SITE 8) George W.R. Martin was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and of World War I. He was wounded twice at the Battle of the Marne. In the 1920s and '30s -- and, I presume, until his death -- George and Bertha Martin lived at 1606 S. Ogdeo Drive, Los Angeles. They had no children. George W.R. Martin was my wife's great uncle. We've just unearthed two of his photograph albums from the attic of a recently deceased aunt, and are trying to learn more about him. Using the Veterans Administration online grave locator, I was able to identify what I believe to be the correct man, but I would like to confirm this. Thank you! Mark E. Dixon Wayne, PA

    3. Don: I found an obit for Samuel Fox in the Los Angeles Historical Times Newspaper but was unable to find one for Margaret or Stanton. I did locate a specific date of death for Layde Fox. I'll send these to you in a separate email because the CALOSANG listserve does not allow attachments to emails.
