    1. Re: [CALOSANG] Original Marriage Records

    3. Thanks for this, but what I'm trying to find out is whether or not there is a friendlier place to view the original records. If they're available at several different facilities, then I'm guessing they're not the originals. Maybe it's impossible to view original records. I had looked this up and it sounds very restrictive in Norwalk. It might be difficult to fulfill my assignment. Most of my research has been done in New England, even though I live in California. Sometimes you can actually look through the original books. Again... That might be impossible here in California, but I thought I'd see if anyone has had a good experience. Thanks for the warning about doing my homework before heading out. It must have been very frustrating to have the offices/libraries closed. Also, I'm not planning to go to Compton. I grew up there, but I'm well aware that it has changed. The records aren't there anyway. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Joy Fisher" <jfisher@sdgenweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 08, 2011 6:26 PM To: <calosang@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [CALOSANG] Original Marriage Records > From the county web site: > > http://www.lavote.net/recorder/bdm_records.cfm > > _*Viewing Vital Records:*_ > > The Department of Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk is located at 12400 > Imperial Highway in Norwalk .
