I am looking for information about Hazel Elva SMITH who was born Apr 1, 1901 in Meaford, Grey County and her family. She married Bruce BARCLAY on Jan 31, 1918 in Brantford, Brant County. Bruce was born Jan 22, 1895 in Ridgetown, Kent County and died Sept. 1974 in Pasadena, California. Bruce & Hazel moved to California around 1950. Their children were Gordon Roy, Elmer, Melvin & Mildred. Gordon was born March 26, 1922 in Meaford, Grey County, moved to Los Angeles, California in 1947 where he practiced medicine at the Ross Loos Medical Group and died Feb 9, 1969 in Los Angeles, California. I don't know anything about a wife or children. Mildred married a Mr. Russell and she was living in the Toronto area, last I heard. I don't know anything about Elmer and Melvin. HI Jackie, Some local libraries carry local papers for that area and sometimes, even in Los Angeles county, you can obtain an obituary. I have been quite successful at times doing online, email requests or 'ask a librarian' requests. I thank them for the service, request a search for an obit, give all the information I have on the person, ask what their policy regarding this type of request, and include your mailing address. Sometimes they will include a bill when they send the obit, and sometimes they will ask for payment up front. I have paid anywhere from $.00 to $10.00 for an obit.
