    3. Your best place to start is the California Death Index, which will list parents surnames if they are on the death certificate. I could not do much for you easily as Valdivia is a common surname and you provided neither the birth years nor birth places of the children, nor whether Pedro and Refugio were married in Mexico or the USA nor when. Here is what looks like the CDI entry for Refugio, age not quite the same as you mentioned: VALDIVIA REFUGIO 07/04/1874 F MEXICO LOS ANGELES(19) 09/14/1946 72 yrs Link to the CDI is: http://vitals.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ca/death/search.cgi On 4/27/12, LEHJDH211@aol.com <LEHJDH211@aol.com> wrote: > Looking for anything on Pedro and Refugio Valdivia and their children. > > Pedro and Refugio were born in Mexico between 1876 and 1884 - according to > > ages in census records. 1. [CALOSANG] THOMPSON Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Maud Victoria THOMPSON which was taken at the Steckel Studio in Los Angeles, California. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Maud appearing to be in her teens at the time it was taken. I'm hoping to locate someone from Maud's family so that this beautiful old photograph can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Just getting home from a long walk and being hungry and seeing this, I clicked on it. I was surprised to see it was a website for fast food coupons. My friend and I had a nice lunch at Quizno's and free sub with the coupon I printed out. Tillie

The LDS is not likely to have any California Death certificates.  I want to   mention that I have had trouble reading the copies of Death Certificates ordered from LAVote because of the color scheme that they use, so I choose to wait the six months it takes to get them from the State of California instead. In case you want to try the State, the URL is   http://www.cdph.ca.gov/certlic/birthdeathmar/Pages/CertifiedCopiesofBirthDeathRecords.aspx Now, for finding the deaths of your other ancestors, we have a great resource in the California Death Index, which is available at many free sites.  Here is the URL for the one at Rootsweb, sorry the link is so long and ugly: http://vitals.rootsweb.com/ca/death/search.cgi?cj=1&o_xid=0000584 If that breaks, Family Search (the LDS site) also has the CDI: https://www.familysearch.org/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to CALOSANG-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Its very very easy.  It costs $14 and you can download the forms from www.lavote.net.  Make sure to say you want an 'INFORMATIONAL COPY ONLY' as the form is rather confusing and implied you need a notarized form.  You only need those for certificed copies.  It takes about 3 weeks from the time you mail it till the time it comes back. I always encloses a SASE and it is always sent back in it.   Joe --- On Sun, 6/10/12, GrowingATree <growingatree@hotmail.com> wrote: From: GrowingATree <growingatree@hotmail.com> Subject: [CALOSANG] Death Certificate 1958 and Jewish Genealogy Groups in LA??
