    3. I was planning to order through the FHL which is free :) I send them the info they need, and I receive the cert(s) via email. The issue I am having is that according to the county code, she died in the city of LA, code 70, not the county, which is a different code. The cert I am seeking is from 1913 and Joseph's list does not include 1913. 3. FamilySearch is definitely an increasingly wonderful resource. After I wrote my previous note I looked around a bit more and now am in the process of browsing through some San Joaquin Co. (Stockton) certificates in search of my great-grandfather’s death certificate. They are more or less in chronological order, but so far no luck. If I knew the certificate number that would certainly help. Perhaps I can find it in an index....... 3. I am new to California research and I have a question regarding finding a death cert in FHL (Family History Library) films. I found the death listed in the California death index. The place of death was code 70 which is the city of LA. Does anyone on here know where the FHL films for city of LA re located on line? I want to order the cert via the FHL, but I can't find the films Thanks, Gail ~ Gail Schinnerer Jorgensen ~

    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of F. I. BROWN from the East Greenwich Academy Class of 1894. The photograph was taken at the Horton Bros. Studio in Providence RI. In viewing alumni info for the Class of 1894 I see Fred I. BROWN in that class, so I'm guessing that this is a photograph of Fred. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Fred and his family: Fred Innes BROWN was b. 2 May 1873 in Rhode Island to parents George A. BROWN (b. 1846) and ? NEWELL. Fred and his parents were living in Newton, MA in 1881 and in 1900 Fred was living in Boston, MA. Fred married Marion Gertrude HUNTER (1882-1958) and together they had 5 children including, Paul I.; David Hunter; Richard I.; Robert D.; and Fred I. BROWN Jr., all born between 1905 and 1924. By 1920 the couple was living in Wellesley, MA. Fred died in Los Angeles, CA on 26 Jul 1952. Census records provide the following details: 1930 census of Wellesley, MA: Fred I. BROWN, age 50, married 26 years, born RI, parents born RI, Wire Sales Manager Marion H. BROWN, wife, age 42, married 26 years, born MA, parents born MA Paul I. BROWN, son, age 25, born MA, Office Equipment Dealer David H. BROWN, son, age 15, born MA Richard I. BROWN, son, age 13, born MA Robert D. BROWN, son, age 12, born MA Fred I. BROWN Jr., son, age 6, born MA 1940 census of Warwick, RI: Fred I. BROWN, age 61, born MA, an Office Appliance Sales Manager Marion H. BROWN, wife, age 49, born MA Robert D. BROWN, son, age 22, born MA Fred I. BROWN, Jr., son, age 16, born MA I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
