    2. Patricia Welch
    3. Happy Thanksgiving To All, I am very thankful to have discovered the Callaway family to be mine. Isaac and Winnifred Callaway had only two sons, Felix and James Madison. Does anyone have the names of their children. Catherine JOhnson was the wife of James M. Callaway, and according to a paper filed after his death, they had several children. Felix G. Callaway, I believe was married before marrying Susan Peek. She may have been Susan Baldwin--her father mentions her in his will. According to the will of Isaac and Winnifred, Felix had daughters, Mary A. and Margaret Callaway. Does anyone have anything on this? I also found a will of Willis Shivers who mentions his grandchildren, Willis Callaway and Mary. How does this Shivers family fit in? 1. [Callaway] New Charlotte CALLOWAY and Elijah WILLCOCKSON Website
    2. Alice Stipak
    3. Dear CALLAWAY/CALLOWAY Cousins, I am happy to announce the birth of my new CALLOWAY/WILLCOCKSON website, the "Descendants of Elijah WILLCOCKSON and Charlotte CALLOWAY." Elijah was the grandson of John WILLCOCKSON and Sarah BOONE; Charlotte CALLOWAY (also seen as CALLAWAY), Elijah's cousin, was their great-granddaughter (a special website for John and Sarah will be launched and linked to this one in the near future). Charlotte's father Elijah CALLOWAY (also seen as CALLAWAY) served as a member of the North Carolina Legislature for thirteen years. The book King's Mountain and Its Heroes documents the heroic resistance of Charlotte's mother Mary Cutbirth, then a young girl, and of the whole Cutbirth family when British officers abusively invaded their home during the War of the Revolution. Mary's father Benjamin Cutbirth, a close friend and fellow long-hunter of Daniel Boone, was the first pioneer to reach the Mississippi River from the East. I have posted about 40 pages so far, on the first 4 generations of this WILLCOCKSON/CALLOWAY family of ours. Included are 220 descendants in these first 4 generations, with links to dozens more in later generations. I input data from Spraker's Boone book, from Wulfeck's Wilcoxson book, and from contributions by several cousins. You can find this new homepage at: http://www.stipak.com/willcockson/elijah/ElijahWillcockson.htm Please note that there is an index page, a sources page, and a surname page, all linked to the homepage. I am linking to the Boone Society, Scroggins Papers, and other important websites. The website is not finished; it will be ongoing and growing. I will be correcting, linking, adding, updating it, etc. If you are interested in the WILLCOCKSON branches of our CALLOWAY/CALLAWAY family, then please take a look and tell me what you think. I hope that the Boone Society and other family researchers will link to this new website, so that we cousins can find each other and share information. If you see anything incorrect or get any "Not Found" error messages, please let me know. Many thanks to those of you who have already been a part of this labor of love. Enjoy! Cousin Alice their great-great-great-great granddaughter, Alice Imig Stipak granddaughter of Martha Viola Wallick's daughter Alice (Hageman) Imig

    1. [Callaway] Callaway research
    2. Hi, its been awhile since I posted. Have been taking care of a sick family member. So havent had much time for anything. Still looking for info. regarding Levan Callaway born 1802. who married Elizabeth Nichols.(he is buried in NJ Callaway family plot) Helen if u read this post, no new clues regarding him at all. I have found some distant cousins finally in NJ who may be able to help me. Just know that it was forbidden years ago to talk about the dead in my family. And alot of family were afraid to talk about the family tree. So of course that makes me more curious. But I am still so busy. Dont think I will make Georgia trip in Oct. either. I hoped that Sherrill or Clay has found something on this line, but I know everybody has been busy too. Thankyou, Suny

    3. Posted on: CALLAWAY Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/surnames/c/a/CALLAWAY/queries/17 Surname: ------------------------- Marion - Our Canadian Callaways were Edward and Frederick, both born St.Annes Alderney. Frederick 1872 and Edward 1879. They are 2 of the 19 children of Christopher Callaway and Ellen GARLAND. Their brother, Rev. George N. Callaway was my grandfather, who emigrated to the USA via Canada about 1909. Frederick married Alice May MITCHELL and they had 2 children, Gertrude & Fenton, neither of whom ever married. Edward married Annette ROBILLIARD and had 7 children, but only brought 2 of them to Toronto in 1923. They were Gladys and Maurice. Maurice's son Francis Edward never married, but daughter, Annette married ? and had 4 children. I wish I had her last name for further research. Does any of this help you? There's a good possibility that some of Edward and Annette's other 5 came to Canada eventually. They were William, Albert, Rita, Frederick, and Edward. If you see a connection, please let me know. Regards, Carol

    3. Beverly Turpin Callaway (B.T., or Turpin)was born about 1814 in Coosa Co. AL. He died in 1841 in Shelby Co. AL. He married Sabrina Jane Coker about 1839. They had one child: Lucy Ann Callaway who was born on March 6,1842. She married William Martin Carver in 1861 in Choctaw Co. MS. Her mother later married an Allen Gentry and they moved to Choctaw Co. MS. Willis Francis Callaway was listed as the executor of the estate of B. T. Callaway, along with a Jobe, John and a Benjamin Callaway as purchasers of his estate. Is Willis Francis Callaway a brother of B. T. Callaway and are the other Callaways also brothers of B. T. Callaway? How are they related to the Benjamin Calloway who has land patents in Dallas and Lowndes Co. AL. in 1829, 1830, 1831 and 1834? Is he related to the Jobe Callaway who is listed on the 1816 census for Monroe Co. AL? Would appreciate any help or advice that anyone can give me on my Callaway line. Will be glad to share whatever family information that I have on my Callaway line. Charlotte G. Boykin
