Does anyone have information on the children of Winder Callaway/Calloway and Mollie Ward? Winder is the son of William (??-1793) and Sarah Giles. William is the son of Ebenezer Callaway who is the son of John Callaway who is the son of Peter Callaway(1645-about 1719) from Delaware. Winder had several children in Delaware, shows up in the Ohio and then Indiana census. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm looking for a Cena E. Coats on the 1850 Henry County, MO census as about 8 years old, her parents are William Coats and Cena Callaway McLaughlin Coats...she has two brothers, Huff D. Coats and John J. Coats, we believe John J. Coats is buried in OK as John D. Coats and Huff D. Coats is buried in Bluejacket Cemetery, Bluejacket OK...her father William Coats died between 1850 and 1860...on the 1860 census for Callaway County MO, her mother Cena Callaway McLauglin Coats is listed as head of the household and sons Hugh Coats (Huff D.) and John Coats are listed Huff is 20 years old, but Cena E. Coats is not listed...anyone know anything about this family...

I have about despaired of providing you any helpful info. I have a Julep cup which belonged to my grandmother Callaway, who had a brother Samuel, a sister-in-law Elizabeth (his wife) and a cousin Mrs Walker. She was born in 1894, and married in 1913. But she didn't have a brother Thomas, nor even a cousin I can discover. And my cup has her name hand scribed on the bottom, but no JAH anywhere, although she did have a cousin named John A Hornsby. But there were lots of Callaways wandering around central KY in that time frame. I hope you find the ones you're looking for.

Christerpher Columbus Callaway was my ggrandfather. He was a Methodist Minister, possibly a circut preacher, I do not know if he was Ordained. He was in Greensboro, AL., he died in 1867. His father was Gaddah Callaway, also a preacher in Lincoln Co. TN., Probably a circut preacher. Gaddah died in Perry Co., AL. befor 1830. Any information will be very much appriciated. viv

My grandfather Joseph was born in Terrebone Parish, LA on 10 April 1908. He married Laura Riley who was also born in Terrebone Parish. They had 7 children and moved to Holbrook, AZ. My mother, Mary Jane was born 3 Dec 1938 in Morgan City (St Mary's Parish/Ward 6). She married my father, Jimmie Brown who was in the Army. My brother, Joesph lived with my grandparents in Holbrook. My brother, Jimmie Jr, and I visited my grandparents in the summer of 1974 or 75. My cousins Mary Jo, Kelly, Laura, Judy, Shelia and also with my aunt Joesphine who was diabetic lived there. My nickname is Suzie. My brother Joseph married Molly and has 2 kids, Sarah (who is named after our father's mother) and Ty. They would be about 17 or 18 years old. I visited with Mary Jo in Gila Bend, AZ. She married a guy who was in the Air Force. She was pregnant at the time. My grandparents died within 10 months of each other in 1976.

Toni M. Callaway Have you come across a little booklet, I'm not sure of the title but it is somithing like "31 Callaway preachers in one family." I have not as yet connected my Gideon and Frances Green ancesters to the Callaway line. It may be that Frances is connected many generations back.I didn't find the name Gaddah but did find a William Gladstone Callaway 1828-1888, son of Rev. Francis.
