Surnames: Callaway Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xNH.2ACEB/467 Message Board Post: I have recently started researching the Callaway side of my family. The only information I have is that my great grandfather's name was Edward W. (went by EW) Callaway, married to Daisy Elizabeth Brandan, and he died in the mid 1920's in Van Zandt Co., Texas. He and Daisy had about 9 kids, some were Marvin, Marvis, Wayne (grampa), Gladys, Harry. I know either Edward's mother or Daisy's mother is full blooded Cherokee, but not sure who's. I'm looking to find out who Edward's parents, grandparents, etc. were and where from. I know our Callaways were in Georgia at some point.

Jesse names one of his son's Calaway Hodges. But we have also been told that Jesse's father was a Charles. Do you know if Welcome had a brother Jesse Monroe Hodges? Jesse went by both Jesse and Monroe. He sold property in MO to Welcome just before Jesse left for OR in 1847. Jesse Monroe was b Marlboro Co., SC and married a Catherine Stanley in 1812 in TN. Surnames: MURRAY, MURRY, CALLAWAY, FEELY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xNH.2ACEB/463 Message Board Post: Bridget CALLOWAY (1814 - June 21, 1898) is buried in All Saints Cemetery, an old Irish cemetery in Lakeville, Dakota County, Minnesota. Her husband, Thomas Murry or MURRAY (1894 - June 07, 1893) is buried with her. The south facing side of their monument lists their birthplaces. Murray’s is easy to read, viz., Dunmore. (Dunmore is both an RC Parish and a Townland.) Bridget’s entry is very hard to read and looks like "Caumonaugh" or "Cavanaugh, Galway, Ireland." There is no RC parish of either name. There is a Galway Townland called Curraveha. Next to Dunmore is the RC parish of Boyounagh. I am ready to accept Boyounagh is a good possibility. Any info on either Murray or Calloway would be super. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Callaway, Edgington, Marshall Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/xNH.2ACEB/461 Message Board Post: I'm looking for Callaway men: George A. born 1825 and John William, born 1821. They married two sisters, Elizabeth (1823-1847) and Eunice (1828-1881) Edgington. I'm curous if these guys were brothers. Elizabeth and Eunice were daughters of James and Sarah Elizabeth Marshall Edgington. There are a few other Callaways who wed into the extended Edgington clan, also. An Andrew James Callaway born 1835 wed a Clarinda Marshall, and Charles Callaway 1833-1863 wed Melinda Ann Marshall. Clarinda and Melinda Ann were sisters, and daughters of Susannah Edgington (and Oliver Marshall); Susannah is sister to James, father of Elizabeth and Eunice. Sorry this is so convoluted! Does anyone recognize the Callaways? Thanks, in advance!
