Believe now that the Rev. Enoch Hayes of Alabama was the father of the Enoch, Jesse, and Mary Elizabeth who travel to Rusk co, TX. Rev. Enoch Hayes (b. 1791, d. 1853 Autauga co, AL) married Rebecca Clark in Jasper co, GA 26 April 1810. An early article in the periodical Alabama Baptist quotes Enoch Hayes recounting a tale of finding his 9 children and wife under a tree after a tornado. It appears Rev. Enoch Hayes also had a brother called Jesse. The probate records (Nov 01 1857) for the younger Enoch Hayes who ran the ferry at Camden, TX can be found at the Rusk county courthouse. Ola Florence Callaway was born to Reverend Joseph Pitt Callaway and Florence Anderson in 1893. Last time I have located her was in 1900 census of Temple, TX with Joseph married to second wife named Penelope Dyer Hardin Callaway. Florence Anderson Callaway died in Orchard, TX in 1898.
