Surnames: Callaway-Simmons Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/xNH.2ACEB/493 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on my grandmother. Here is what I know. Her name was Lula Margaret Callaway and might have gone by the nickname of "Peg" she married James Rodger Simmons bef. 1910 I believe in Maryland. They had three sons James Underwood, Arthur Carey, & Carlton Jethro Simmons. They were divorced by 1920 and the boys were raised by their father. She died in 1954 in Ft. Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida. I believe she married two more times 1) Unknown Orem and 2) Russell Selmes. She may have had another child by Mr. Selmes. My grandfather James Rodger Simmons was born in Taylor Island Maryland and was living in Cambridge Town, Dorchester County, Maryland in 1910 so maybe she was from there. Any help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.

    1. Charles CAMPBELL, and Wife Dorcas JONES, OR Was Her Surname CALLOWAY/CALLAWAY?
    2. Berna David Hunter
    3. CLAIBORNE COUNTY, TENNESSEE > WRIGHT COUNTY MISSOURI. Surnames: CAMPBELL, CALLERWAY, or CALLOWAY, JONES, HELSLEY, QUILLEN NICHOLS, ROWLAND, BRAY, CHADWELL, SEALS, and CLEGHORN. I am trying to discover information about my CAMPBELL, CALLOWAY, and JONES families heritage, but because so very little is known about the CALLOWAY and JONES lines the family history may be hard to understand. I am sure you will agree with me as a fellow genealogical researcher that a family heritage that is lost is truly a very sad thing. I am hoping someone out there can help me with this classic dead end. I am searching for information on: Charles CAMPBELL, his wife Dorcas CALLOWAY/CALLERWAY, (but it is possible that her maiden name was JONES) their parents, and their children and families. The best way I can envision to start this despaired search for information is to tell you what I know and go from there. There seems to be a problem with Dorcas CALLOWAY/CALLERWAY, JONES' records. One record will list Charles CAMPBELL's wife Dorcas with the maiden name of JONES, while others will list her maiden name as CALLOWAY. I am seeking information that will prove her name either way. Charles CAMPBELL's wife Dorcas died in Wright County Missouri. Her probate records indicates her name to be Dorcas CALLERWAY Campbell. I believe the correct spelling to be CALLOWAY and believe this to be her maiden name. The papers list Dorcas Campbell's heirs as: Alex Campbell, Elisa Campbell, Margaret Campbell, George Campbell, Nancy Cleghorn, Manerva Cambell, Serelda Campbell, C.C. Campbell, Martha Rowland. The following is listed as it was written. Heirs of Emily Bray (deceased) Heirs of Betty campbell (deceased) Grandchildren who signed vouchers as having received a share of Dorcas' estate. Are: S. P. Bray, Caroline Chadwell, Mrs. John Coday,Thomas P. Bray, J. H. Campbell, Mrs. E. S. Coday. Source Cre! dit, Wright County Historical Society. Listed below is the information I have for this CAMPBELL family. Would you please appraise this information and determine if there is any common links with your own family? I would greatly appreciate any and all assistance. Generation No. 1 1. Missouri was my g-grandmother and did marry Marion F Holloway. From talks with my father, I learned that Missouri did not have any brothers or sisters. She is buried in Noah's Ark Church cemetery along side M F Holloway. Although she was to have been married prior to M F Holloway, and did have her son Jasper with her previous husband, I am affraid the M A Callawy in the 1880 Spalding census is not Missouri.
