CALHOUN, c c1865, and his administrator, JOHN C. CALHOUN, as noted in the following document: *PROBATE [Andrew P. Calhoun]: From a photo copy in the collection of the late Hassell Tackett, spouse of Lillian Calhoun Tackett. We could not determine the county/state of origin of this document or just how Andrew P. Calhoun or John C. Calhoun was related to the family of Lillian Calhoun Tackett, 1906-1985, of Pike Co., KY. ____________ To W.E. Holcomb [several illegible words] [State/County not shown, or illegible] I Petition your court for an Order to sell all the personal property belonging to the estate of the late ANDREW P. CALHOUN, decsd, except the Household and Kitchen furniture & Library on the 15th day of Dec next on a [illegible], twelve months with interest, except Sums under fifty dollars which will be cash on day of Sale, it is thought advisable to require Sums under fifty dollars to be paid in cash, to enable me as administrator to pay the interest on debts due by the Estate in case a law should be enacted by the legislature requiring the interest on debts to be paid. . . . Nov 24th, 1865 - JOHN C. CALHOUN, Admin. On [illegible] the above petition it is ordered [illegible] Deceased that the administrator have leave to sell at the time and on the terms prayed for, that he take Bond form purchases with at least two good sureties to Secure the payment of the purchase money; and file the account sales thereof for record in this office.
