Cathy, I also have a line of Calhouns from Ross Co., Buckskin Twp, OH. Our Moses McCall m. Nancy Calhoun on 9-25-1815. They moved to Platte Co., MO in the early 1830's or 1840's. A Little earlier than your family, but same state & county. Have you read the 1850 census of Ross Co., OH to find the parents of your James Calhoun? My grandmother Margaret Seal who was from this line said she was closer related to John C. Calhoun than her husband, John B. Calhoun who was a grandson of the James Calhoun in Daviess Co., IN. I think it's time to work on the Ross Co., OH Calhouns. Sure could use a break on the Calhoun's, we have been at a dead end for a long time.
