I think John C had a twin who ended up in Mew Mexico and became a territorial governor there. His painting hangs in the museum (formerly the governors residence) in Santa Fe. It looks exactly like my brother. I have been meaning to go back and read up on him in the library there but have never been there again on a weekday. The guard told me he was the twin. Calhoun was originally spelled Colechon (French) and the evolved into Colquhoun ( highland Scots) There is a castle there for the clan. Do you have any info at all?
