I'm looking for information on John Ewing Calhoun, born 1834 in Abbeville district, SC. He left S.Carolina and went to California and mined for a while before joining the Civil War, Union, after which he lived the rest of his life in Texas. John E.Calhoun married Telitha Peek in 1881, McLennan county, Texas. If anyone is familiar with this family, I sure need help connecting him to the South Carolina area.
