Verna, I stand corrected. I just read some information on line and Col. George A. Custer was m. to a Elizabeth Bacon. I may be wrong, but I remember reading that Lt. James Calhoun was Custers brother in law and he was killed at the Battle along with Custer. Several ways to look at this, perhaps Calhoun was m. to the sister of Custer. There are web sites on Custer and perhaps by going in that direction you can find something out on James Calhoun.
